Alpharetta City Council member Jason Binder invites residents to a “Bark in the Park” input meeting to discuss proposed improvements to “Waggy World,” the dog park in the northeast corner of Wills Park.

The meeting is to start at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at City Hall, 2 Park Plaza.

Binder, the council’s liaison to the Alpharetta Recreation, Parks & Cultural Services Department, will host the meeting to discuss the timeline and process for the Waggy World improvements. The dog park is staying at Wills Park, 11925 Wills Road, and may be expanded, officials said.

Beyond Thursday's Waggy World meeting, the timeline of the Wills Park master planning process calls for a Recreation Commission meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, and a City Council workshop at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, both at City Hall. “During the master planning process, the overall park design is created by landscape architects with the community’s input,” Binder said. “The specific features of each element of the park will be created with the direct input of those who use them most.”
