Alpharetta residents want a better understanding of what they can and can't do while a shelter in place order is in effect.
The Alpharetta City Council approved the measure Wednesday to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.
During the special called meeting held by video conference, some 300 people listened in. Many also submitted questions about the new sheltering rule, but officials couldn't get to all the questions on Wednesday night, so The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reached out to city officials for answers.

Here's how Alpharetta Mayor Jim Galvin and assistant city administrator James Drinkard answered:
Am I allowed to get into my personal car and drive around town?
No. The shelter-in-home order requires you to stay in your place of residence, and only leave for essential activities such as travel to and from essential businesses or working at essential businesses.
Can I run, walk or bike around town?
Yes. These activities around town or at a park are OK. Continue to follow social distancing requirements, keeping six feet from other people. Families and individuals from the same household can be together.
Can I play tennis at the park or in my community?
It depends. The tennis courts at the parks are closed. You may play tennis at your community courts as long as you are playing with a member of your own household. You may not meet to play tennis with members outside of your household.
Can my neighbors and I gather in the cul-de-sac?
No. All public and private gatherings of any number of people residing outside a single household or living unit are prohibited.
Can I host a graduation party for my child who is graduating this spring, if I only invite family?
It depends. Only gatherings of people who currently live in the same household are allowed under the order.
Can I move into a new residence at this time?
Yes.
Are liquor stores open?
Yes, liquor stores are considered essential businesses under the city’s definition.
