Alpharetta officials plan a meeting next week to present proposed changes to the city’s Comprehensive Plan.

The plan adopted in 2011 is designed to guide the city’s future in economic development, housing, historic preservation and other areas, and an update is required after five years. Assistant city Administrator James Drinkard said some of the changes being weighed include new language addressing preservation of existing neighborhoods, identifying multiple scales of development for different areas within the city and changing the way the city measures the balance of owner-occupied as opposed to rental housing.

The workshop is set for 5 to 6 p.m. June 2 in the multi-purpose room at Alpharetta City Hall, 2 Park Plaza. The proposed changes will subsequently be considered by the planning commission and city council.
