The Alpharetta City Council has approved $281,139 contract to restore walls and replace roofs of public recreational facilities and the city jail.
The project is being awarded to Garland/DBS Inc. as contractor. Garland solicited bids from potential subcontractors and identified two low bidders: SafeShield Roofing Inc. for the recreation and parks facilities work ($88,785), and Roof Options Inc. for the public safety facility ($192,354), according to a staff report.
The Crabapple Government Center will have its masonry walls restored and windows sealed; and the Equestrian Center Lower Show Office and Cogburn Road Park, a comprehensive exterior rehabilitation and waterproofing.
The North Park Fields concessions and pavilion will get new roofs, as will the jail. Work should be completed within 45 days of the notice to proceed, staff said.
