The Alpharetta City Council has approved a $618,306 contract for the construction of a sidewalk along Morrison Parkway.

Sol Construction LLC submitted the lowest bid of five received for the project, according to a staff report to the council.

Plans call for an 8-foot-wide sidewalk to run for approximately 1,700 feet along the south side of Morrison from Hembree Road to the eastern property line of the Honda property, about 450 feet west of Lakeside Parkway. Curbs and gutters, storm drainage and retaining walls also are to be installed.

The council also allocated $30,000 for utility relocations, to be paid by the city directly to the utility owner.

The project is to be completed no more than 120 days from the notice to proceed, staff said.
