The Alpharetta City Council has approved a $379,383 contract with Sol Construction LLC to construct three sidewalk segments totaling about a half-mile in length east of Ga. 400.

The contractor will install about 1,000 linear feet of sidewalk along the west side of North Point Parkway from Great Oaks Way to the south, according to a staff report to the council. This would fill in a gap in sidewalks from Webb Bridge to Mansell roads.

Sol also will build about 725 linear feet of sidewalk on the east side of Morris Road, south of Tradewinds Parkway, completing a gap in sidewalks from Webb Bridge to North Point; and roughly 875 linear feet of sidewalk on the south side of Morris to Dryden Road, creating a continuous sidewalk from North Point to Dryden.

Construction is to begin as soon as the contract is finalized and executed. The expected completion date at all locations is no more than 105 days after the notice to proceed. The projects were identified as part of a 2016 bond referendum.
