The Alpharetta City Council has approved $24,000 in program funding for a group that provides athletic, recreational, cultural, social and educational programs for disabled children, adults and their families.

The North Metro Miracle League runs Camp Moe-Mentum, Camp 2 Community and the After School Fitness Program at the NMML Sports Complex and Learning Center in Alpharetta's North Park, according to a memorandum of understanding between the city and organization.

Camp Moe-Mentum is a four-week camp, held five days a week in June, concentrating on fitness and fun for individuals ages 4 to 21, the memorandum says. Camp 2 Community is a four-week, Monday-Friday summer program offering meaningful life, social and vocational instruction to disabled youth ages 10 through 16.

The After-School Fitness program for disabled children and teens is held Mondays and Wednesdays at North Park during the Fulton County school year. Information: http://www.nmml.net/
