The Alpharetta City Council on Monday night got a first look at a draft list of a possible $228 million menu of transportation projects for a Fulton County TSPLOST referendum in November. The list resulted from meetings involving staffers from various cities and consultant group Atkins and Kimley Horn. It's being presented to city councils in Alpharetta, Milton, Johns Creek, Roswell and Sandy Springs.

It includes a dozen-plus Tier I projects designed to ease regional congestion, including widening significant stretches of Haynes Bridge and McGinnis Ferry roads plus Windward Parkway from two to four lanes, and converting a key portion of Old Milton Parkway from four to six lanes east of Ga. 400.

Five of the 16 projects on that list were singled out as being of particular importance to Alpharetta, including improvement work on both Haynes Bridge and Kimball Bridge roads. The Alpharetta council plans to review the draft and supplemental materials and further discuss the list next week.
