The National Archives at Atlanta will be closed on Saturdays starting Nov. 1.
The decision effects not only the facility which is in Morrow but the other 11 regional archives nationwide, said Rob Richards, director of the Morrow center. The Morrow facility was open the third Saturdays of each month
“They’re not seeing enough people (visiting),” Richards said. This Saturday will be the last Saturday the Morrow facility will be open. The National Archives at Atlanta is the the repository for historical documents for the Southeast. The facility, which is at 5780 Jonesboro Rd, Morrow , will maintain its regular hours Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
