A memorial service will be held Thursday evening at Dutchtown High School for a teenager killed over the weekend at a pool party in Fayette County.

The 6:30 p.m. ceremony for Wali Clanton Jr. will be held in gym.

Clanton, a 2014 graduate of Dutchtown, was killed late Saturday night when a scuffle broke out and shots were fired as the pool party was being dispersed. The 19-year-old was one of five people shot and the only one killed. Clanton had just finished his freshman year at Kentucky State University where he was expected to be a walk-on for the college football team this fall. He had been home in Stockbridge about a month when the shooting occurred.

On Tuesday, Clanton’s body was flown to Tampa, Fla. where he’ll be buried. His funeral is scheduled for Saturday June 27 in Tampa. Members of the Dutchtown High School football team as well as the Kentucky State team are expected to attend his funeral, said his aunt Anita Robinson of Lawrenceville.

Fayette County police are still investigating the incident but have no suspects.

Dutchtown High School is located at 149 Mitchell Rd in Hampton.
