Lovejoy Mayor Bobby Cartwright is a self-professed farmboy who has made a political career and endeared himself to his constituents by taking on a lot of tasks - including the role of city manager, which has the blessing of the city council.
The dual roles have raised some eyebrows but Cartwright dismisses the criticism, saying no one has come to him complaining about it. From the looks of the November mayoral race - nobody will. The 55-year-old is running unopposed for another term as mayor.
