A $375,000 settlement in a wrongful arrest case that Fulton County commissioners agreed to Wednesday “would have been significantly less” if the county had only made an offer at any point before the case went to trial, attorney Natalie Woodward said.

“This case really should have resolved without going to trial, period,” she said.

In March, a jury found in favor of Woodward’s client, who had been charged with felony obstruction of justice. The charge was later dropped.
