A special-called meeting set for Friday between Fayette County officials and the leaders of the county’s five municipalities may be cancelled if snow moves into the area, county manager Steve Rapson said Thursday.

County officials will decide later this afternoon - after they get updated weather briefings - whether the meeting will be rescheduled. County leaders were set to discuss whether to call for a Special Local Option Sales Tax referendum in March, Rapson said.

“We’ve got our public work crews ready, topped off all the gas tanks and our emegency management is keeping close track with the National Weather Services.”
