Work on a new bridge over Ga. 316 will cause lane closures on the busy highway for the next two weeks.

The Georgia Department of Transportation said the highway’s east- and westbound inside lanes will be closed between Ga. 81 and Harry McCarty Road just outside Gwinnett County. The closures will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. every day until April 22.

“This will allow contractors to install concrete barriers and construct the support structure for a new bridge,” DOT officials said in a news release.
