Gwinnett County will spend $75,000 to study transportation and other improvements in the Gwinnett Place area.

The county Board of Commissioners Tuesday agreed to contribute $25,000 to study a possible redesign of the intersection of Satellite Boulevard and Pleasant Hill Road. As The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported recently, plans call for the intersection to be converted to a park-like traffic circle.

Commissioners also agreed to spend $50,000 to study a pedestrian and cycling bridge connecting the Gwinnett Place area to McDaniel Farm Park.

Both projects are part of a broader plan to convert an area surrounding Gwinnett Place Mall to a mixed-use retail, office and residential area where buildings could be up to 25 stories. You can learn more about those plans here.
