The March 24 "March for Our Lives" will take place in Washington, Atlanta and in cities across the country. It is spearheaded by Parkland, Fla. students who survived the Feb. 14 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting, and the march has received national attention and celebrity donations from George and Amal Clooney and Oprah.
In Atlanta, students are getting help from the Georgia Alliance for Social Justice, the group that originated from the Atlanta Women's March in 2017. The organization is acting as the "fiscal sponsor" for the event and on Monday opened an online store to sell merchandise and raise money for the march. Organizers are still working out the logistics and time of the event, and several thousands have indicated on the event's Facebook page that they plan to attend.
