Greenway Health CEO Tee Green has called Georgia the “health IT capitol of the U.S.” More than 225 health IT companies are located in the state, according to the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

The explosion of jobs in the healthcare IT field is evident in Georgia, with local companies expanding and receiving recognition for their innovations. Carrollton-based Greenway Health was named one of the Top 10 Innovative Technology Companies—and the most likely to create jobs—at the 2015 Georgia Technology Summit this spring, held by the Technology Association of Georgia.

Paula Kepes, vice president of talent, answered questions about Greenway Health (greenwayhealth.com), which was founded more than 30 years ago and has has more than 1,600 employees. The company’s clinical, financial and administrative information solutions tools are used by 80,000 clinicians in 11,000 sites across the U.S., in addition to 27,000 pharmacists in Walgreens’ 8,200-plus pharmacies.
