Adrian Jones was removed from his birth mother’s home when he was 2 because he had been left unsupervised.
Sent to live with his father and stepmother, the boy was dead five years later.
The abuse Adrian suffered was well-documented by his stepmother, Heather Jones.
According to the Washington Post: "In several instances, Adrian was shown strapped to a table and blindfolded, or standing in neck-deep water in the family's dirty swimming pool overnight. ... In another picture, Adrian appears to be tied up with a plate of food in front of him, a bar of soap in his mouth."
The abuse ended in the boy’s death, and his body was fed to pigs. His father, Michael Jones, and stepmother were sentenced to life in prison.
Adrian’s birth mother, grandmother and older sister are now suing agencies in Missouri and Kansas that, they say, knew about the abuse but failed to protect the boy.
Was enough done to help Adrian, or are these state agencies responsible for this child's death? Read the full story at myajc.com.
