The city of Johns Creek has adopted a new “Unified Community Brand” that consists of a logo and tagline to be used by city government, the chamber of commerce, convention and visitors bureau and the city’s economic development arm.
The city council approved the project unanimously Monday night. The logo is a series of award ribbons, along with the tagline “Johns Creek … be the exception.”
The plan was born out of research showing that businesses weighing relocating to a community prefer one that appears unified and with symbology showing local government and business interests working together, said city spokeswoman Rosemary Taylor. The tagline/logo was developed under an $82,000 contract with North Star Destination Strategies of Nashville, and was based on extensive research and community interviews.
It will be used as a business recruiting tool in tourism advertising and in communications between city government, residents and others and will be phased in over time, Taylor said.
