Some significant changes are part of the 2015-2016 Forsyth County Schools student school calendar approved by the board of education.

The system added a weeklong fall break Sept. 28-Oct. 2, after a survey showed 91 percent of staff members and 64 percent of parents favored it. In addition, the district has eliminated its two inclement weather days, shifting instead to an Online Learning for School Closures plan. The former bad-weather days are now part of a mid-February break.

The calendar also includes: four early-release days, one less than the current school year’s five, a one-week Thanksgiving break, two weeks off at the winter holidays, and one week for spring break. School will start Aug. 6 and end May 27.
