A 24-year-old Forsyth man who police say tried to arrange a meeting with a 13-year-old was arrested Friday when he showed up to meet her at Hobgood Park in Woodstock at 11 p.m.

Jose Adrian Aguilera, of Cumming, was arrested and charged with 13 counts of obscene Internet contact with a minor, 2 counts of sexual exploitation of a child, 2 counts of electronic obscene materials to a minor and 1 count of attempted child molestation.

Cherokee sheriff’s officials say Aguilera had been communicating with a person he thought was a 13-year-old girl since July. It was in fact a Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes against Children detective.

Aguilera remains in custody at the Cherokee Adult a Detention Center with a $160,000.00 bond.
