Can you believe we’re just about at the end of 2016?

It's been another incredible year of news at the neighborhood level, nationally and worldwide. And for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that means a remarkable year of strong journalism.

Besides the obvious, a new U.S. president elect, 2016 has brought Metro Atlanta growth and major economic development news, welcomed or unwelcomed depending on your vantage point.

In addition to covering breaking news and ongoing news, the AJC’s award-winning investigative coverage this year has made a difference, shaping our communities and affecting or transforming the lives of many.

This year’s news has been dominated by race relations, transgender, crime and other sensitive and emotionally charged social issues, along with politics. At the same time, the AJC has produced journalism that was both entertaining and inspiring. If you missed any of our investigative coverage, the stories about the passing legends of 2016 or our Personal Journeys series you’ll have a chance to catch up on some of them throughout the holiday season on myajc.com.

Over the next few weeks, the AJC revisits the stories that our subscribers valued the most this year. We've put them all in one place here for you to explore and share with your friends and family. In addition we've pulled together other specials like our features on holiday entertaining, photos of the year,  and holiday travel just to name a few.

Here’s a look at what’s to come in the weeks ahead:
