A boy was airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta-Egleston after a dog bit him.

An 8-year-old North Georgia boy was flown to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston after a dog bit him in the face Monday afternoon, Hall County police said.

The incident occurred in a garage at a residence in the 3000 block of Southchase Drive while the boy was playing.

The child’s injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, said Derreck Booth, spokesman for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office, Hall County Fire Services and Hall County Animal Control responded to the scene. Animal control, which is in charge of the investigation, took custody of the dog.
