Suspected shoplifter asks police to watch stolen bike

When he was caught allegedly shoplifting at Walmart, an Atlanta man asked arresting officers to take care of his bike.

It's "very nice and expensive," the man said about the bike, according to Dunwoody police.

It may have been, but it wasn't money Mark Thomas Densmore spent.

"The bicycle was reported stolen from a condominium in Atlanta just days prior," Dunwoody police posted on Facebook.

Densmore was booked into the DeKalb County jail late Monday on a shoplifting charge, but could face additional charges related to the stolen bicycle, police said.

Densmore has been in state prison four times, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections. He was released in December 2012 after serving about 18 months on a burglary charge, records show.
