Investigators have not determined whether the shooting at the Martin Street Plaza Apartments was related to the filming or any of the artists involved, an Atlanta police spokesman said Thursday. Witnesses at the scene told officers they were filming a video for Atlanta rapper YFN Lucci.

A music video shoot in southeast Atlanta was ended abruptly Wednesday night when someone started shooting.

Investigators have not determined whether the shooting at the Martin Street Plaza Apartments was related to the filming or any of the artists involved, an Atlanta police spokesman said Thursday.

Witnesses at the scene told officers they were filming a video for Atlanta rapper YFN Lucci, the spokesman said. The rapper, whose legal name is Rayshawn Bennett, was not on scene when the officers arrived, and he has not been in touch with them since, according to police.

The gunfire was reported about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. Officers responded to the complex on Martin Street and found a 15-year-old boy with a minor injury to his hand.

“The investigation revealed that at the time of the incident a music video production was underway when at least three suspects began shooting,” spokesman Officer Steve Avery said in a statement. “In addition to the injured victim, several vehicles in the parking lot were damaged.”

The teenager was taken to a hospital. An investigation is ongoing, Avery said.
