An up-and-coming star-chef, who competed on the Food Network, along with her husband and unborn child, are presumed dead, and a contractor has been accused in their deaths.

According to NBC News, Cristie Codd and her husband Joseph were reported missing Sunday.  Robert Jason Ownes of Leicester was arrested Tuesday, charged with two counts of first-degree murder and murder of an unborn child among other charges.

The Codds had hired Owens to work on their home, NBC News reported .

Cristie Codd was a finalist on season 8 of "Food Network Star," a series in which cooks compete to win their own show on the network.

She was also an actress with small roles in "Mona Lisa Smile" and worked as a stunt performer in the upcoming film "Terminator: Genisys," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Arnold Schwarzenegger tweeted about Codd's death on Tuesday.

Joseph Codd, who went by the name JT, was a grip, or lighting and rigging technician, and had worked on the television series "Carnivale."

Cristie was five months pregnant with the couple's first child, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
