The all-clear has been sounded in Avondale Estates, where a suspicious package prompted police to close a street and evacuate several businesses.

“The DeKalb County Bomb Squad has found the suspicious package at Twin Oaks Shopping Center to not be a threat,” according to a posting just after 11 a.m. on the city’s Facebook page. “All businesses and roads in the area are open.”

Police had closed a four-block stretch of East College Avenue while the package was investigated.
