A man was arrested after police say he stole a boat in the Florida Keys and landed in Cuba, the Miami Herald reports.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Shawn Michael Luskey, 38, stole the 13-foot boat at Murray Maine on Stock Island after the owner left the keys in the ignition.
A surveillance video at the Murray Marine shows Luskey stealing the boat on Oct. 30.
He arrived at Cuba the next day, but was caught by Cuban border agents at Havana Harbor. The agents contacted the U.S. Coast Guard, The Herald reports.
Luskey was charged with vessel theft.
