A man at the center of a dog-fighting ring spanning multiple states has been arrested.
Barry Lemore Kee, 37, was arrested for animal fighting and faces a total of 13 counts, according to AZCentral.
Police were alerted to Kee’s dog fighting involvement by the Arizona Humane Society. A witness had turned over evidence to the organization that documented Kee’s extensive involvement in dog fighting.
Court documents show that Key would chain dogs to a treadmill and force them to run for 30-minute intervals.
In addition to 13 pit bulls, a treadmill, injectable drugs and syringes were found at a residence linked to Kee.
The witness in the case claims Kee traveled frequently out-of-state to engage in dog fighting activities, calling his prize fighter his “money maker.”
Kee faces a court hearing on May 28.
