Police are searching for a man who allegedly threatened a secretary inside a Georgia State Patrol facility in Rome on Wednesday.

Floyd County police said the man entered GSP Post 38 at 3386 Martha Berry Highway around 4 p.m. He then allegedly pulled out a handgun and threatened a secretary.

No one was injured during the incident, police said.

The man, who left the scene, hasn’t been identified.

He is described by police as slender and about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He has short, dark hair and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark-colored shirt.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen a man matching this description crossing Martha Berry Highway or in the area around 4 p.m. to call 911. You can also message the Floyd County Police Department's official Facebook page.
