Authorities have identified the 34-year-old man who was shot to death Friday in his Paulding County home.

The body of Mark Phillips was found in the foyer of his home on Crestbend Lane, Sgt. Ashley Henson of the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office said.

The incident did not appear to be a random act, officials said Friday. There were no signs of forced entry.

The victim’s wife and two children were in the home when officers arrived about 12:39 a.m., officials said.

The woman was taken in for questioning, but she was not considered a suspect at the time. She told authorities “an unknown number of males got into an altercation with the victim, which ultimately ended in gunfire,” Henson said Friday.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information should call investigators at 770-443-3015.
