A 22-year-old Hall County man was jailed on murder and other charges Friday after his father was found dead, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

Daniel Wallis Burchardt was arrested in White County and was booked into the Hall County Jail, Lt. Scott Ware said.

Burchardt had been under house arrest on drug, aggravated assault and burglary charges, Ware said.

Deputies responded to the 3400 block of Looper Lake Road after it was determined that Burchardt’s ankle monitor had been tampered with.

“Upon arriving at the residence this morning, Daniel Wallis Burchardt was not there, his father, Tony Burchardt was found deceased, and Daniel W. Burchardt’s ankle monitor was located at the scene,” Ware said.

The cause of death for Tony Burchardt was blunt force trauma, according to an autopsy.

The suspect was arrested by White County deputies after a lookout was issued.
