Hall County deputies have arrested a man accused of shooting three people overnight at a home near Gainesville.

Jonathan Vasques-Rivera, 32, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon, about 12 hours after he allegedly wounded three people in what investigators are calling a domestic-related incident.

Hall County deputies responded to the shooting in the 1000 block of Martin Drive about 2:30 a.m. and discovered three men with gunshot wounds, sheriff’s office spokesman Derreck Booth said.

Investigators said Vasques-Rivera drove to the home overnight and started shooting when a man opened the door, striking him and two others inside before leaving the scene.

All three victims were taken to the hospital, two with gunshot wounds to the leg and the third with a gunshot wound to the head, Booth said. Two of them have since been released from Northeast Georgia Medical Center. The third person is expected to survive, authorities said.

Vasques-Rivera was identified as a suspect shortly after the shooting, but deputies were unable to locate him overnight.

He was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon at a home off North Cliff Colony Drive, authorities said. He is charged with aggravated assault, but deputies said additional charges are possible.

It’s still unclear what led to the shooting.
