A Henry County man with previous felony convictions received a mandatory life prison term Tuesday for a 2013 armed robbery.

Kerry Albright, 51, was convicted of robbing a Dollar General store in McDonough, district attorney spokeswoman Megan Matteucci said.

Albright was convicted of two counts of armed robbery and illegally possessing a firearm, Matteucci said.

During the trial, evidence showed Albright's cellphone pinged off towers near the store and along the route that police chased his vehicle, Matteucci said.

He ran after the chase and was arrested several months later. His DNA was found on a hat inside the vehicle.

Albright was sentenced as a repeat offender, which made the life sentence without parole mandatory.
