The guy who stole an iPhone in a recent burglary has been using it to film himself committing additional crimes, the burglary victim says.
The owner of the iPhone believes the burglar doesn’t realize the smartphone is still connected to her account, because everything he has filmed has been uploaded to her iCloud account.
That video is now in the hands of investigators.
Debbie Lamey said her condo at Millennium Palms was broken into and, along with her iPhone, someone made off with an Xbox, a computer and her purse. She believes the intruder was able to get into her house through a sliding glass door while her family slept.
Video shot with Lamey’s iPhone since it was stolen shows someone rummaging through drawers full of laundry and video games. Two men are visible in the video.
There have been seven recent burglaries in the area where Lamey’s condo is located.
A composite sketch has been made of the suspect, who police believe chooses homes he believes to be empty. When confronted, he becomes aggressive and violent, and investigators urged homeowners not to engage him and call 911.
