Christian Garcia Castillo (right) was arrested by Roswell police after allegedly peering at a woman through a hole in the wall of a hotel.

A peeping Tom suspect remained in jail on Friday, a week after he was allegedly found peering into a Roswell hotel room through a hole in the wall, according to Fulton County Jail records.

Christian Garcia Castillo, 30, is accused of spying on a mother at InTown Suites on Hembree Road, according to Channel 2 Action News. Police said it isn’t clear if Castillo cut the hole himself.

Monica Thomas told Channel 2 it was Sunday when she first noticed the hole in the wall of her room’s kitchenette.

“I see that it’s a hole, a nice size hole. I’m trying to figure out when did it come,” she said. “I ducked down and looked through the hole and could clearly see the man on the other side.”

She said the hole gives a view right into the bathroom when she’s showering because she keeps to door open to keep an ear out for her baby son.

Thomas reported the hole to hotel management, which responded by covering it with duct tape. The next night, Thomas said the tape was gone. “He stuck his hand through the wall,” she said.

Thomas said she wishes the hotel had properly patched the hole when she reported it. On Friday when The Atlanta Journal-Constitution called the hotel, general manager John McKay declined to comment or answer whether the hole had been fixed.

Officer Lisa Holland, Roswell police spokeswoman, told Channel 2 that Castillo tried to explain the situation by saying “he was concerned because someone was knocking on his door and he was afraid and he was somehow going to communicate with the person next door.”

Holland told the AJC on Friday it isn’t clear how long Castillo had been living at the hotel.

Records indicated that as of Friday afternoon Castillo’s bond was set at $5,000.
