Two Henry County schools were put on lockdown after authorities said they heard about a domestic situation in the area.

Two Henry County schools were placed on a hard lockdown Friday after a domestic situation was reported in the area.

“Our deputies arrived and the subject in question was detained,” a Henry County sheriff’s official said on Facebook. “No immediate threat to the students or faculty occurred.”

The incident was reported in the area of Austin Road elementary and middle schools on Austin Road, according to authorities.

At 1 p.m., the lockdown was reduced to soft before finally being lifted at 1:45 p.m., Henry County schools spokesman J.D. Hardin said.

“The day continued as normal for both schools,” he said.
