A man and his girlfriend were accused of stealing $5 from an 11-year-old girl who was walking home from a Dollar General store in Brooksville, Florida.
The Hernando County Sheriff's Office said that on Saturday, Nov. 21, the girl was approached by Courtney Barter, 25, and Nathaniel Prater, 21.
According to WFLA, the girl told authorities that Barter told her "give me all you have." The girl complied and gave Barter a $5 bill, which was what she had left after having shopped at the Dollar General. After taking the money from the girl the pair ran away, according to the report.
The 11-year-old used her cellphone to call her father to tell him what happened.
Deputies found Prater and Barter walking along a road in Brooksville. According to the report, Prater was found with a glass pipe and a razor blade that had electrical tape on one end that "served as a make-shift handle." Deputies say Prater threw the pipe under the deputies' patrol car. The pipe had white residue on it which tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the report.
