A Locust Grove man has been arrested after police said he molested a teenage girl and cut her sister during a violent Wednesday morning home invasion.
According to Henry County police Capt. Joey Smith, 23-year-old Jacob Hunter Moats forced his way into a home on South Laney Road in Locust Grove just before 7:30 a.m.
“During the incident, two juvenile teenage sisters were assaulted and one received a laceration to the hand with an edged weapon,” Smith said Thursday in an emailed statement. “The investigation revealed that this home was specifically targeted by the suspect.”
Moats molested one sister and cut the other with a knife when she tried to stop him, police told Channel 2 Action News.
Authorities did not say why the suspect targeted the home.
Moats was arrested later Wednesday and charged with home invasion, child molestation and aggravated assault.
“This is still a very active investigation and specific details of the incident cannot be released at this time,” Smith said.
