Detectives in one Tennessee town are calling it the first theft case of its kind and are still trying to figure out how much the accused thieves may have gotten away with after stealing bread racks.
As Fox 13 learned, this crime has left a lot of people wondering what they were thinking.
Corinth Detective Dell Green told FOX13 the surveillance video shows Lonell Davis and Brian Orr, both of Memphis, stealing bread racks.
The two are accused of stealing hundreds of racks.
"This was a first for us as far as stolen bread racks," Green said.
Davis and Orr face two counts of grand larceny.
According to investigators, the pair used a stolen Penske truck in the surveillance video to haul the plastic racks for sale as scrap to a yard in Memphis.
"They have been deemed the bread rack bandits around here," Green said.
People FOX13 spoke with who live in Corinth are wondering what the pair were thinking.
"They only know, for lack of a better word, stupid," Lafayette Jordan of Corinth said.
The two were caught on camera multiple times making it easy for police to identify the truck and pull them over.
When police found the truck, they found a truck load of bread racks.
