Two men sought by Clayton County authorities were arrested recently, one of whom was also involved in a shooting death in Indiana, Sheriff Victor Hill said.

Domanique M. Johnson was taken into custody in Marion County, Ind., after he was wounded and another person was killed in an exchange of gunfire, Hill said in a news release.

Christopher Tyrone Toles was arrested at a Jonesboro apartment without incident, Hill said.

Toles and Johnson were involved in an armed robbery July 12 at a Jonesboro apartment, according to the release. “They both robbed a victim at gunpoint and threatened to kill the victim if he did not comply or called law enforcement,” Hill said.

Toles’ girlfriend, Lanetta Shree Ellis, was present when he was arrested and found to be wanted in Henry County on a charge of contempt of court. She was also taken into custody.

Toles is charged with false imprisonment, violation of the Georgia gang act, armed robbery, aggravated assault with intent to rape/murder/rob and other violations.

“Toles is now waiting for Johnson to join him in his suite at the ‘Hill-ton,’ the sheriff said. That’s sheriff-speak for the Clayton County Jail.
