It’s time again to help those in need. The Convoy of Care this time will help the hurricane-ravaged communities in southern Louisiana.

Following Hurricane Ida’s destructive path, WSB-TV Channel 2 is partnering with law enforcement agencies, the trucking industry and the nonprofit organization Caring for Others to gather and deliver supplies to those impacted by the storm.

“Five years ago, metro Atlanta rallied for the first Convoy of Care to Baton Rouge, La.,” Condace Pressley, WSB-TV community and public affairs director, said. “Together with the support of our partners, this community will again make a difference in the lives of Louisiana residents impacted by Hurricane Ida.”

A contactless collection will be held today until 6 p.m. at four locations:

• WSB-TV, 1601 West Peachtree Street, NE Atlanta

• First Baptist Church of Woodstock, 11905 Ga. 92, Woodstock (Gunnin and Trickum Road entrance)

• Caring for Others, 3537 Browns Mill Road, Atlanta 30354

• J.P. Mosley Park and Recreation Center, 1041 Millers Mill Road, Stockbridge, 30281

Requested items should be new and include personal hygiene supplies; diapers, wipes and other baby supplies; cleaning supplies and laundry detergent; fans, flashlights, batteries and heavy-duty extension cords.

“We are in contact with law enforcement leaders in the affected areas and have already identified the locations where donated relief supplies will be distributed,” said Clarence Cox, former national president of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives and an original Convoy of Care partner.
