A new music video seeks to answer the pre-schooler-stumping question: What sound does a fox make?

That was "The Fox," performed by the Norwegian entertainment duo Ylvis. It was produced by brothers Bård and Vegard Ylvisåker to promote the new season of their talk show. (Via Facebook / IkveldmedYLVIS)
Ylvis, a comedic fixture in Norwegian television, has explored the music video genre before to ask another burning question.

But their latest hit has become an internet sensation, racking up over one million views in two days on YouTube. And the critics are dazzled as well!
USA Today calls it: "multi-sensory insanity that falls somewhere between the Flaming Lips and Crazy Frog."
Gawker dubs it the "Song of the Summer," despite the fact it was released in September.
And a writer for The Washington Post playfully raves: "This combines everything that a music video should have: autotune, attractive people gyrating rhythmically in the woods, and basic, child-level facts about animals!"
And The Week thinks with this contender, Korean pop star Psy needs to watch the throne. "At the very least, it seems a more likely heir to the 'Gangnam Style' throne than flash-in-the-pan pretenders like the Harlem Shake."
As for Ylvis, they're stunned by the success. Bård told Mother Jones the inspiration for the video was simple curiosity.
“Well, there is some genuine wondering as to what the fox really says … I guess we wanted to contribute with some suggestions. I mean, who cares what the shark says?"
