Stockbridge City Manager Randy Knighton is moving on from the Henry County community to take over as Roswell City Administrator.

Knighton was the sole finalist for the Roswell position after the Fulton County city did a search for several months. He will replace Gary Palmer, who resigned in June, according to media reports.

In his resignation letter to Stockbridge, Knighton said, “I have appreciated the wonderful opportunity I have been afforded to serve as city manager of the city of Stockbridge. I have been able to work with great staff members, interact with wonderful citizens and serve the visionary elected body.

“The city of Stockbridge has a strong foundation which will allow it to progress in a way that will make citizens proud for many years to come,” he said.
