The teen's charges stem from a drive-by shooting in which two people were hit, one of whom died from his injuries.

A 16-year-old suspected in a drive-by shooting that killed a man in Clarksville, Tennessee, was arrested in Decatur on Thursday.

The teenager was taken into custody without incident by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and has been charged with first-degree murder, spokeswoman Cynthia Williams said in a news release. The minor was booked into the DeKalb County Regional Youth Detention Center, where he awaits extradition to Tennessee.

The shooting that led to the teen’s charges took place Aug. 20, Fox 17 WZTV Nashville reported. Emmanuel Tyson, 32, and another victim were shot in a residential neighborhood in Clarksville, located about 50 miles northwest of Nashville near the Kentucky state border.

Tyson was taken to a hospital, where he later died, WZTV reported. The second victim, who was also hospitalized, was not identified.

Because the suspect is a juvenile, officials did not release his identity. It is not clear if the teen is a resident of Georgia or Tennessee.
