As part of Georgia Cities Week, Fayetteville is offering free shredding and recycling services 9 a.m.-noon on Oct. 9 at City Center Park, 210 Stonewall Ave. West behind City Hall. Residents can bring up to 10 small (15x12x10-inch) boxes or three 13-gallon trash bags of paper per person, but binders and binder clips must be removed. Household glass such as bottles and jars will be accepted for recycling, but auto and window glass or ceramics are not allowed. Computers, small appliances and other electronics can also be dropped off for recycling, but no TVs of any size will be accepted.

Volunteers will be available to provide instructions and information, but participants must be prepared to carry their own items to the receptacles. The entrance to the event will be off Stonewall Ave. West via the driveway between the cemetery and City Hall.
