Powder Springs has opened JustFOIA, records requests software, through the city’s website and a new MyCivic mobile app.

For the MyCivic app, the home screen includes At Your Service, Sanitation, Explore the City, Calendar, What’s Happening, Let’s Hear from You and Report An Issue.

Each section delivers more access to information.

At Your Service, Sanitation and Explore the City sections allow citizens to have important contact and destination information with the click of a button.

They can learn about their city’s history, demographics and elected officials.

Also, they can find parks, facilities and points-of-interest along with information, phone numbers, maps and directions.

They can stay informed and up-to-date on the newest happenings and upcoming events through the What’s Happening section.

Citizens also can report issues within their city - such as street light repair and graffiti - from the app.

They can track reports and receive updates directly from the city staff.

For free, the MyCivic app may be downloaded on the App Store or Google Play.

As for public records requests, the city has three business days to respond to these requests.

If the request requires more time to locate records, emails will be sent by the city to the requestor.
