Super Bowl LIII volunteer uniforms unveiled

Thousands of volunteers took part in a kickoff rally at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The official Super Bowl LIII volunteer uniforms have been  revealed. Here's a look at what the 10,000 volunteers will be sporting during Super Bowl week as they play an important role as recognizable ambassadors of safety and hospitality.

With less than 100 days to go, the Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee celebrated its official volunteer team with a kickoff rally Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The Super Bowl Host Committee had selected The Icebox, An Atlanta apparel and merchandise agency,to 
provide 10,000 Super Bowl volunteers with uniforms.

The Icebox demonstrated “vast creativity and ability to deliver unique, quality products within a relatively short timeline,” Lee Hendrickson, vice president of community engagement and volunteer programs for the committee, said in a statement.

A piece of the uniform collection will be fabric made from recycled plastic water bottles collected from Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Volunteers will receive six components as part of his or her uniform.

Icebox CEO and co-founder, Jordy Gamson, said the uniforms were “designed with a high attention to detail and craftsmanship, but with the understanding that they need to stand out as a recognizable symbol of Atlanta.”
