Atlanta Women's Chorus: Why do the "baddest" women always seem to get the best songs? Not anymore! Cancer benefit: In February, Ben and Mary McMath, parents of baby Whit, heard the words no parent should ever hear: "He has cancer." The doctor was referring to their 3-month old baby boy. Affordable housing benefit: For the fifth year, the "Taste of Life" benefit will help to raise funds for Living Room, a Georgia-based nonprofit that helps people living with HIV/AIDS find and maintain safe, affordable housing. Rib festival and fundraiser: The eighth annual Benefit Rib Festival, which includes the sale of smoked pork butts, will be held from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, June 6, in the parking lot at St. Peter and St. Paul Episcopal Church.
