It seems like many expecting couples are looking for a unique way to announce the exciting baby news to family and friends, and one Georgia woman found the ideal way to do just that, through her job.
Charly, an on-air personality for country music station WNGC, and her husband had tried for years to have a baby. At get-togethers, family and friends would ask if there was any news to share. Always saying "no," the couple was determined to make their dream of having a family a reality and knew when that day came, they needed a way to share the news unlike anyone else.
After undergoing in vitro fertilization, Charly and her husband finally got the news they'd been hoping for -- they were expecting.
The excited couple waited a few weeks to tell their families, so they could plan the perfect announcement.
The Eli Young Band was going to be at the Georgia Theatre in Athens and Charly was going backstage to meet them. Armed with a sign she printed at the office, she stood anxiously in line and waited. When it was finally her turn and she told the band about her plan, there was no hesitation from them at all. The band was excited to be a part of something so special.
The band posed around Charly, with a sign that read, “Baby’s 1st Concert.”
That was in August.
Flash forward to June, and the baby is now 2 months old. When Charly heard the Eli Young Band was going to be in town again, she knew her daughter had to meet the guys. After all, they found out about her before Charly's parents did. When Charly walked in, the band members, all fathers themselves, instantly recognized Charly and couldn't wait to see the baby.
So now, hanging in her nursery, is an autographed "baby's first concert" sign and a picture of her backstage with the band.
She may be the world’s youngest groupie.
